Loop Lighting (Notes)
- Loop Lighting- lighting technique that creates a small shadow of the nose on the person's face.
- Purpose: This feature purpose is to cast a shadow in a photograph, that is in the formation of a tiny loop. The loop should come next to the person’s nose on the cheek.
- Usage (How and Why is it used?): Used by taking a light or reflecting light into the person's face so that it creates a shadow next to the nose. It creates a more realistic and life-like picture.
- Set-Up: Light can be anywhere either behind the subject and reflecting down into a mirror, or a light 45 degrees from camera and above eye level. It should shine into the face, casting a shadow.
